The Peak of Good Living
Cocker Spaniel Puppies in Apex, NC
A family breed for a family town. Small intentional litters from health-tested parents, raised in our home, placed with people who want a dog for the next 14 years.
Why Apex Families Choose Us
A small program with long answers.
Apex consistently shows up on best-places-to-live lists for one reason: the people here pay attention to long-term decisions. School zones, neighborhood fit, contractors who actually show up. The same instinct applies to choosing a breeder. You don't want a website with a Venmo link and a litter every six weeks — you want someone who can explain the pedigree, the pairing, and the plan for week-one at home.
We talk to every Apex buyer at length before a deposit. We'd rather lose a sale than place a Cocker into a home that isn't right for the breed. The trade-off is that the families who do go home with one of our puppies tend to stay in touch for years.

Apex Buyer FAQ
What Apex families want to know
- Where can I find a reputable Cocker Spaniel breeder near Apex, NC? +
- Sovereign Spaniel is a short drive from Apex and serves families across western Wake County. We're small by design — a few intentional litters a year, not a kennel — and most of our buyers come by word of mouth from Apex, Holly Springs, and Cary.
- Are Cocker Spaniels good with kids? +
- Cockers are one of the classic family breeds for a reason. They're soft-mouthed, patient, and oriented toward people. Our puppies are handled by children from the second week onward, so by the time they arrive in your Apex home they already see kids as part of the pack.
- How much exercise does a Cocker Spaniel need? +
- Around 45–60 minutes of structured activity per day plus indoor play. Apex's greenway system, Pleasant Park, and a fenced backyard handle that easily. They're built to keep up with active families but settle calmly indoors — not a high-strung breed.
- What's the grooming commitment? +
- Plan on brushing 2–3 times a week and a full groom every 6–8 weeks. There are excellent groomers in Apex and Cary who know the breed. We send buyers home with a starter grooming guide and product recommendations.
- Can I visit before deciding? +
- Once a deposit is placed, yes. We schedule meet-the-puppy visits for reserved buyers in the 5–7 week window. It's part of the bonding process and gives you a chance to see mom, the home environment, and the daily routine.
